Acme after-sales policy (current edition)

Fictional teaching material; not a real merchant policy.

window-new | Original-payment window for new orders

For ordinary goods ordered on or after 2026-08-01 and already paid, customers may request an original-payment refund within 45 calendar days of the order date. The order date is day 0; day 45 is included. Goods must be unused and intact, and an order record must be available. Custom-made products and delivered digital goods are outside this ordinary-goods rule. Calculate the window from the order date, not from the date someone reads this document.

For example, an ordinary-goods order placed on 2026-08-03 and currently on day 38 is still inside the request window. That permits application checks; it does not mean a refund has been issued and does not replace the approval procedure.

window-old | Window that still applies to earlier orders

Paid ordinary-goods orders placed before 2026-08-01 retain a 30-calendar-day original-payment request window. The order date is day 0 and day 30 is included. This transition rule is part of the current document: reading only published policies does not mean applying 45 days to every order. The same goods-condition and approval requirements apply.

For example, an order dated 2026-07-20 that reaches day 38 is outside its 30-day window. Seeing a newer announcement does not change the rule applicable to that order; explain the reason rather than promise an original-payment refund.

approval | Evidence submission and approval procedure

For the refund approval procedure, the customer supplies the order ID, a reason, and information showing that the goods are unused and intact. Support checks ownership, payment, goods condition, and the applicable window, then sends the exact order and proposed amount to an authorized reviewer. Before approval, the assistant may explain conditions or say the application awaits review; being within the window must not be described as already refunded.

After approval, the payment system processes the original-payment return. An execution receipt reports that outcome; a chat reply, retrieval score, or completed application form is not a payment receipt. This document describes a fictional shop workflow only.

outside-window | After the applicable window

After the applicable 30-day or 45-day window, this policy no longer accepts an ordinary original-payment refund. Support may refer the case to a separate store-credit review. Referral is not approval, does not guarantee credit, and must not be described as returning money to the original payment method.

When the order date, product category, or condition is missing, request those facts. Finding the words "45 days" does not remove the applicability conditions, and another shop's terms are not promises by this shop.

scope | Document scope and revision note

This text covers the Acme ordinary-goods teaching case only. It is not a real merchant promise or legal advice. The 2026-08-01 edition replaces the former publication; the earlier-order transition rule is included in this edition. A document administrator marks published and archived editions. Similarity search does not decide which version is effective.

This policy does not specify cross-border taxes, airline-delay compensation, lunar delivery, or quantum-device warranties. Questions about uncovered subjects require an explicit lack-of-evidence response. An "after-sales" title does not make the document an answer to every after-sales question.
